Interactive Balloon Sidewalk Chalk Photos

Sidewalk chalk is the ultimate boredom buster. This week, the children and I used sidewalk chalk to make some fun interactive photos with the kids positioning themselves in the photos.

I recommend using a bowl of water to wet the chalk to make it easier to draw darker, more vibrant lines. I also use a flat cardboard box as a flat edge to help draw straight lines when using sidewalk chalk. If you have difficulty bending try using a Walkie Chalk stick to draw with sidewalk chalk without having to sit or kneel on the ground.

Sidewalk Chalk

What to Do:

  1. Use sidewalk chalk to draw large colorful balloons with strings.
  2. Have the child position their body below the balloons with their arms above their heads with a hand holding onto the balloon strings to make it look like they are flying into the air.
  3. We used real string for my nanny kid to hold to look very realistic.
  4. Take a photo as a keepsake.
