Cooking for Kids
My Nanny Kids love this easy recipe for breakfast or snack. There is no measuring, mixing, or dirty bowls necessary to make these bite-sized rolls that look like little cookies but have the texture and taste of lightly sweet rolls.
You Will Need:
2 Pillsbury Crescent Roll Tubes
Apricot Jam
Raspberry Jam
Waxed Paper
Cookie Sheet
What to Do:
1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
2. Unwrap one tube of dough, leaving the other refrigerated until ready to use.
3. On waxed paper split dough crosswise in half and unroll into two long rectangles, pinching the perforations closed.
4. Spread jam on the two rectangles.
5. Starting with the short side, snugly roll up each rectangle, ending with the seams under the rolls. Transfer to a plate; freeze while you repeat the process with the second tube of dough. Let stiffen in freezer for an hour.
6. With a sharp knife on a cutting board, cut each roll crosswise into rounds. Arrange in a single layer on a lightly greased cookie sheet pinching the dough to secure each round shut.
7. Bake until golden brown about 10 minutes. Serve warm, or at room temperature.
