Valentine’s Heart Sun Catchers

This is an easy project that children can keep to decorate their bedrooms or playrooms for years. Just because the child I care for chose to use one color per heart, allow the children in your care to use any color of tissue paper they want when making Valentine’s heart sun catchers.

You Will Need:

Heart Templates
White Card Stock
Tissue Paper Squares
Clear Contact Paper
Scissors
Printer

What to Do:

1. Print different sized heart templates onto card stock paper. You can save a photo of our heart template above and print it at different sizes.

2. Cut out the outside and inside of the hearts.

3. Place the hearts on clear contact paper.

4. Have the child place tissue paper squares onto the contact paper inside the hearts.

5. Place another piece of clear contact paper on top of the hearts to seal them.

6. Trim the hearts. Leave a little contact paper around the edges of the hearts.

7. Have the child hang the sun catchers in a window.
