Kids don’t have to be Christian to decorate eggs, but decorating eggs is a common Easter activity. Most egg dyes stain, so have the kids wear aprons and protect the work surface and the floor where you will be dying the eggs. Before dying eggs simply hard boil them and let them cool at room temperature.
Hard Boiled Eggs (room temperature)
Rubber Bands
Easter Egg Color Cups Kit
Vinegar
Water (room temperature)
What to Do:
1. Dissolve the color tablets in vinegar and water as per the egg dye kit instructions.
2. Wrap each egg in rubber bands, creating different designs by wrapping the bands several different ways. Be careful not to stretch the bands tight — too much pressure can cause the eggs to crack.
3. Put the eggs in the egg dye cups for about 5 minutes, or until they reach the desired shade.
4. Let the eggs air dry completely before removing the rubber bands.
