Who says breakfast can’t be a little whimsical? For nannies looking to add fun to the morning routine, teddy bear-shaped pancakes are a clever way to win hearts of children of any age. They’re more than cute — they turn mealtime into playtime, spark creativity, and show kids that love can come in the shape of syrup and smiles.
You Will Need:
2 Cups Self-Rising Flour
2 Tbsp Sugar
1/4 tsp Baking Soda
1 1/2 Cups Milk
2 Eggs, Lightly Whisked
2 Tbsp Butter
Banana, Sliced
Blueberries
Maple Syrup (optional)
What to Do:
1. Combine the flour, sugar, and baking soda in a large bowl.
2. Whisk the milk and egg in another bowl.
3. Add to the flour mixture and whisk to combine. Set aside for 10 mins to rest.
4. Heat a non-stick frying pan over medium-low heat. Brush with a little butter.
5. Pour 1/4 cup batter into pan. Cook for 30 secs.
6. Pour two 1/2-tablespoon portions of pink batter onto 1 edge of pancake, allowing edges to touch, to make ears.
7. Cook for 1-2 mins or until bubbles appear on surface. Turn.
8. Cook for a further 1 to 2 mins or until light golden.
9. Transfer to a plate. Repeat with butter and remaining batter to make 6 teddy bear pancakes.
10. Decorate with bananas and berries (we used blueberries) to make the teddy bear face. Serve with maple syrup.
