“I Got the Christmas Spirit” by Connie Schofield-Morrison and Frank Morrison

I am always in awe of Frank Morrison’s illustrations. They are so celebratory and sweet, and this story brings to life the real spirit of giving we should all have during the holiday season. In I Got the Christmas Spirit the wife-and-husband writer-illustrator team produces a Christmas journey in which a young girl and her mother explore the town at Christmastime, complete with all the sights and sounds of the season.

I Got the Christmas Spirit begins with the girl waking up to snow falling outside her bedroom window. The text and illustrations show the child using all five senses to experience a winter day during the Christmas season.

She joins in with carolers and she has a spring in her step. She loves the snow and giving to the Salvation army and when she sees a homeless family on the street needing help, she does her best to help them.

I Got the Christmas Spirit is snout the spirit of Christmas and it comes through loud and clear from the artwork. It’s perfect for the holiday season.
