It’s spring and the children I care for have enjoyed finding the new blossoms of yellow forsythia, pink cherry trees, and white apricot trees. Here are some easy art projects for the children to make their own spring blossoms with tissue paper and popcorn. Click the links to see how to make the projects.

Yellow forsythia blossoms are the first pop of color we see in New Jersey in the spring. The children in your care will enjoy making their own forsythia with tissue paper and crayons, markers, or paint.

Cherry trees come in different shades of pink and there nothing is prettier than the fragile, short-lived blossoms. I used paint, markers, and tissue paper to make this beautiful art project with young children.

It looks like popcorn is popping on the apricot trees. Before, during, and after making these apricot trees teach the kids the song, “Popcorn Popping on the Apricot Tree.” Don’t forget to make plenty of extra popcorn for eating as well.
