Cooking With Kids
October so it’s officially time to make Halloween treats for the kids. These no bake peanut butter bites are great for kids that don’t like the taste of pumpkin. They are super sweet so make them small. I’m sure you can substitute almond butter, cashew butter, hazelnut butter, or sunflower seed butter for kids that are allergic to peanuts.
You Will Need:
3/4 Cup Butter, Softened
1 Cup Creamy Peanut Butter
4 Cups Powdered Sugar
Orange Gel Food Coloring
Mini Chocolate Chips
Toothpick
Parchment Paper
What to Do:
1. Cream the butter and peanut butter until smooth.
2. Slowly add powdered sugar 1/2 cup at a time. Mix until well combined and the dough is no longer sticky.
3. Add food coloring a little bit at a tim until you reach the desired color. Mix until the color is uniform.
4. Refrigerate at least 10 minutes.
5. using your hands, roll the dough into 1-inch balls and place them on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper.
6. Using a toothpick, gently press into the sides of the ball, making about 5 indentations per ball.
7. Gently place a chocolate chip to the top of the ball with the pointed side up.
8. Refrigerate for an additional 15 minutes before serving. Keep leftovers in an airtight container in the refridgerator. Serves 30.
