Color Bubble Painting: Bubble Science

Best Nanny Newsletter Bubble ScienceCreative Wednesdays

What kid doesn’t love bubbles? What child doesn’t love painting and science experiments? My youngest charge absolutley loves doing this color bubble painting project. There are two ways to make bubble painting. It’s very important that the child is old enough to be able to blow out of the straws and not suck in any bubble solution.

What to Do:Best Nanny Newsletter Bubble Painting

Lay Paper On Bubbles
1. Pour one cup of water into 3 plastic bottles. Add several drops of one food color to each bottle. Make one bottle yellow water, another blue water, and the third bottle red water.
2. Pour some colored water into a shallow bowl and add liquid bubbles.
3. Give the child the straw and ask them to blow on the straw into the bowl until she gets a pile of colored bubbles. Have her do the same for the second and third bowls.
4. Gently lay one of the pieces of paper over a bowl of bubbles, so the bubbles stick, then lift it carefully, laying it flat on the newspaper to dry, bubble side up.
5. Wait and watch. When the bubbles pop, the paint will retain a perfect outline of each bubble’s original shape, leaving beautiful images.

(We used The Purple Cow The Crazy Scientist Lab Bubbles and Foam Science Kit to do this bubble painting project since pipettes work better than straws for this version of bubble painting)

1. Pour one cup of water into 3 plastic bottles. Add several drops of one food color to each bottle. Make one bottle yellow water, another blue water, and the third bottle red water.
2. Pour colored water into a shallow bowl or petri dish and stir in liquid bubbles.
3. Dip the wide end of the pipette into one of the petri dishes.
4. Keeping the colored bubble solution in the pipette, blow out directly onto the paperboard.
5. Either wash out the pippette to use other colors or use other pippettes.
