Teach children opposites to help them understand that not everything is the same. Go to the library and borrow the children’s books about opposites, sing the opposite songs, and play the opposite games for preschoolers we have listed below. Once they have a grasp on the concept of opposites, help kids make an opposite book to share with their family and friends.
We made an Opposite Book by having the kids make opposites on construction paper and then stapling the pages together. We glued black and white paper to one page, drew a happy and sad face on another page, the sunny and cloudy on one piece of paper, and drew a thick and thin line with a crayon. Have the kids think up their own opposites.
