Pumpkin Pie Play Dough

aaa

Nothing is better than the smell of pumpkin in the Autumn. So, this week we made this easy homemade play dough recipe that is scented like pumpkin pie.

While playing with play dough, children use the small muscles in their fingers and hands. They use hands, fingers, and tools to pound, push, poke, shape, flatten, roll, cut, and scrape. Through these manipulations, children develop eye-hand coordination, the ability to match hand movement with eye movement, and gain strength and improve dexterity in their hands and fingers — critical areas of physical development for writing, drawing, and other purposes. And when you play at home with children and play dough, you’ll discover the most important reason of all: it’s just plain fun for everybody.

You Will Need:

1 Cup Flourbbb

1/2 Cup Salt

2 Tablespoons Cream of Tartar

2 Tablespoons Vegetable Oil

1 Tablespoon Pumpkin Pie Spice

3/4 Cup Water

Few Drops Orange Food Coloring

What to Do:

1. Add the dry ingredients to a pot stirring them over medium heat until combined.

2. Add the remaining ingredients and continue stirring over medium heat until the mixture forms a ball.

3. Remove from heat. Allow to cool for a few minutes.

4. Have the kids knead the dough until a consistent color is reached. Then play!
