Sidewalk Paint That Pops!

Looking for a colorful outdoor activity that keeps kids entertained and sparks creativity? Homemade sidewalk chalk paint is a simple, non-toxic craft that turns any driveway or sidewalk into a giant canvas! Kids love watching their bright creations come to life, and you’ll love how easy and inexpensive it is to make with just a few household ingredients.

You Will Need:

1 Cup Cornstarch
1 Cup Water
Food Coloring
Muffin Tin or Plastic Squeeze Bottles
Sturdy Paintbrushes

What to Do:

1. Mix equal portions of cornstarch and water until smooth.
2. Divide the mixture into muffin tins or condiment squeeze bottles.
3. Add a few drops of food coloring to each section and stir or shake if using plastic bottles.
4. Head outside with paintbrushes and start creating colorful masterpieces on the sidewalk or driveway! The colors will begin to pop as the paint dries!
5. When finished, simply rinse away with water or let the next rain shower do the cleanup.

Tip: Although cornstarch is easy to wash out of clothing I recommend having the kids wear bathing suits or old clothes and washable flip flops or sneakers that you and their parents won’t mind getting dirty.

The simple ingredients are non-toxic for kids, pets, and wildlife.
