Child’s Hand Bowl for Mother’s Day

This Mother’s Day craft turns a simple project into a keepsake treasure forever. The little ones in your care will love personalizing their very own handprint jewelry bowl made out of soft Model Magic, to create a gift for their mother that’s equal parts fun to make and meaningful to give.

You Will Need:

Craft Mat
Model Magic
Rolling Pin
Exacto Knife
Acrylic Paint
Paint Brushes
Small Bowl
Modge Podge Sealer
Sharpie Markers (optional)

What to Do:

1. Protect the work surface with a craft mat and roll out the Model Magic to about half an inch to one inch thick.

2. Help the child press their hand firmly into the Model Magic to make a print you can trace once their hand is removed.

3. Use an Exacto knife to cut out the shape of their hand.

4. Place the hand over a small upside down bowl to dry to make a slightly cupped palm shaped bowl.

5. Once the Model Magic is dry allow the child to paint their palm.

6. After the paint is dry, use a paint brush to apply Modge Podge to seal the gift.

7. Use Sharpie markers to write letters or decorate the bowl with more detail if the child wants to.
