Kid-Friendly Pasta Bar

Dinner is instantly more exciting when it’s a build-your-own pasta bar! Kids love having choices, and a spread of pasta, pesto, marinara, meatballs, shredded chicken, steamed broccoli, garlic bread, and a sprinkle-happy bowl of Parmesan turns mealtime into a delicious little design studio. They get to mix, match, and create a plate that’s uniquely theirs — which means more fun, more independence, and more happy eaters at the table.

You Will Need:

Ziti and Spaghetti (or pasta shapes of choice)
Marinara Sauce
Pesto Sauce
Meatballs
Shredded Chicken
Steamed Broccoli (or vegetable of choice)
Shredded Parmesan
Garlic Bread

What to Do:

1. Cook the Pasta

Boil ziti and spaghetti according to package directions. Drain and toss lightly with olive oil to prevent sticking.

2. Steam the Veggies
Lightly steam broccoli until tender but bright green.

3. Prepare the Proteins
Warm meatballs and shredded chicken until heated through.

4. Toast the Garlic Bread

Bake according to package directions and slice into kid-friendly pieces.

5. Warm the Sauces

Heat marinara and pesto in separate small pots on low.

6. Set Up the Bar

Place each item in separate bowls with serving utensils. Put garlic bread on a platter.

7. Let Kids Build Their Bowl or Plate

Give each child a bowl or plate to build their own dinner. Have them start with pasta, add sauce, choose toppings, sprinkle Parmesan, and enjoy!
