Rice Krispies Treat Monsters

Looking for a Halloween activity that’s more treat than trick? These Rice Krispies Treat Monsters from onelittleproject are the perfect hands-on fun for little goblins. With candy eyes and colorful melted chocolate the kids will love creating and eating their own silly, spooky snack. No scary skills required — just imagination and sticky fingers!

You Will Need:

Rice Krispies Treats
Candy Melts Orange, Green, and Purple
Candy Eyes
Cooking Oil
Parchment Paper

What to Do:

1. Unwrap Rice Krispies Treats. Visit one little project to see how to make your own homemade Rice Krispies treats if you prefer making them with the children.

2. Melt approximately 1 cup of candy melts in a small bowl in the microwave at 50% power for 1 minute. Stir and then continue microwaving at 50% power for 30 seconds at a time until completely melted.

3. Add approximately 1/2 teaspoon to 2 teaspoons cooking oil (the more you add the smoother the finish, but go slowly) to the melted candy melts and stir to combine.

4. Dip the Rice Krispies Treats in the candy melts and set on parchment paper.

5. Allow the children to gently press the candy eyes into the candy melt coating to create monster faces. They can use different sized eyes and more than two eyes per monster if they want to.

6. Allow the treats to cool at room temperature for approximately 40 minutes or until candy melts have completely hardened.
