This is a super simple dessert to make for Memorial Day or any patriotic holiday. I simply buy a premade angel food cake from the bakery or grocery store then decorate it with red and blue berries and whipped cream to symbolize the colors of the American flag. Of course you can make your own homemade angel food cake and whipped cream if you prefer.
You Will Need:
Angel Food Cake
Container of Whipped Cream
Fresh Red and Blue Berries
Pastry Bag and Tips
What to Do:
1. Put the angel food cake upside down on a cake plate.
2. Wash all the berries and let them dry completely. Hull the strawberries.
3. Put whipped cream in a pastry bag and use a frosting tip to decorate the top of the cake with pretty designs using whipped cream. I filled the center of the cake with whipped cream then made smaller circles on the top of the cake to display some sliced strawberries.
4. Place the berries on the whipped cream in any design or pattern you like.
