Easter Window Sun Catchers

This is an easy, fun, and colorful Easter project to make with children as young as toddlers. Using high quality self-adhesive laminating sheets is easier than using contact paper so I recommend purchasing some by tapping the link in the supplies list. I also like using pre-cut paper otissue squares but colored cellophane sheets look wonderful as well. Click here to find some of our favorite religious children’s books about Easter.

Be sure to read some of our favorite Easter children’s books with the children: “Happy Easter from the Crayons” by Drew Daywalt, “Turkey’s Eggcellent Easter” by Wendi Silvano, “The Bunny’s Rabbit Show” by Sandra Boynton, “The Great Eggscape” by Jory John, “Pick a Perfect Egg” by Patricia Toht, “The Hot Cross Bunny” by Carys Bexington, “Duck & Goose, Here Comes the Easter Bunny!” By Tad Hills, “The Golden Egg Book” by Margaret Wise Brown, “The Story of the Easter Bunny” by Katherine Tegen, and “How to Catch the Easter Bunny” by Adam Wallace.

You Will Need:

Bunny and Egg Templates
Card Stock Paper
Printer
Self-Adhesive Laminating Sheets
Tissue Paper Squares or Colored Cellophane

What to Do:

1. Print several bunny and egg templates onto card stock paper.

2. Cut out the outside of the bunnies and eggs. Then cut out the inside of the shapes leaving thick border.

3. Place the shapes on self-adhesive laminating sheets.

4. Have the child place tissue paper squares or colored cellophane onto the sticky paper inside the Easter shapes.

5. Place another piece of clear contact paper or self-adhesive laminating sheet on top of the shapes to seal them.

6. Trim the shapes leaving a little contact paper or laminating sheets around the edges of the shapes.

7. Have the child hang the sun catchers in a window.
