Pinwheel Sandwiches

Make simple peanut butter and jelly sandwiches extra fun for children to eat by rolling up bread or flour tortillas into pinwheel sandwiches. Stick toothpicks into these bite-sized sandwiches and call them hors d’oeuvres. These fancy treats are also the perfect size for children’s tea parties.

You Will Need:

Bread or Flour Tortillas
Sandwich Toppings
Rolling Pin
Sharp Knife
Toothpicks (optional)

What to Do:

  1. If using bread, use a rolling pin to flatten the bread as thin as possible without breaking the bread. Trim off the crusts.
  2. Spread peanut butter or sun butter and jelly or jam on the bread or flour tortilla wrap.
  3. Roll the thin slice of bread or tortilla into a log.
  4. Gently slice the log into circles with a very sharp, serrated knife, so not to smush the sandwiches.
  5. Serve the pinwheel sandwiches with toothpicks for child-friendly hors d’oeuvres.
