You Will Need:

Empty Cardboard Box
Construction Paper or Card Stock Paper
White Glue and Glue Sticks
Scissors
Markers
Decorations of Any Kind
What to Do:
1. Read “How to Catch a Leprechaun” by Adam Wallace with the children in your care.
2. Cut a door on the side or a small flap on the top of a cardboard box to act as a trap door to catch the leprechaun.
3. Allow the child to decorate the box as they choose with markers, stickers, and stickers. I cut out St. Patrick’s Day designs from card stock paper for a child in my care to decorate the leprechaun with.
4. On Saint Patrick’s Day fill the box with Irish treats and gifts and a note from the leprechaun reading, “Better Luck Next Time!” I also leave the kids a few cookies or little Saint Patrick’s Day trinkets left by the leprechaun.
