Valentine’s Heart-Shaped Pizza

Share the children’s love of pizza and Valentine’s Day by making this adorable homemade heart-shaped pizza. I just buy a pre-made fresh pizza dough at the store but you can make the dough yourself with the kids from scratch. If the little ones in your care like pepperoni, you can cut the pepperoni into little hearts as well.

You Will Need:

Pizza Dough
1/4 cup Pizza Sauce – store-bought or homemade
1½ cup Shredded Mozzarella
3 tablespoons Grated Parmesan Cheese
2 tablespoons Chopped Basil
Sliced Pepperoni or Vegetables of Choice

What to Do:

  1. Preheat oven to 450°F. Line a pizza pan with parchment paper.
  2. Lightly flour a surface, and roll 1 ball of pizza dough into the shape of a heart, about 16 inches tall. Fold edges over and press to create the crust.
  3. Transfer the pizza dough to a prepared baking sheet. Brush with 2 tablespoons olive oil, then poke the crust with a fork to prevent bubbles from forming.
  4. Place in the oven and bake for 6 minutes.
  5. Remove pizza dough and spread ¼ cup sauce over top, then add 1½  cups  shredded Mozzarella cheese, 3 tablespoons parmesan cheese, and pepperoni or any vegetable toppings the children like.
  6. Return pizza to the oven and bake for 8-12 minutes or until the crust is golden brown and the pepperoni is crispy. Remove from the oven and top with fresh parsley or basil, if desired. Let stand for 5 minutes before cutting.
  7. Slice in triangles or squares.
