Crispy Baked Cream Cheese Wontons

Baked Cream Cheese Rangoons are a fun and tasty appetizer found in Chinese and Asian restaurants everywhere. You can bake them easily at home. Be sure to let the children help wrap their own crispy baked cream cheese wontons I found on the Real Plans App. Don’t forget to dip these wontons in the sweet and tangy sweet chili sauce.

You Will Need:

8 ounces cream cheese, (softened)
20 wonton wrappers
3 tablespoons green onions
1 tablespoon sweet onion
1 teaspoon sugar
1/4 teaspoon salt vegetable oil
1 egg
3 tablespoons sweet chili sauce

What to Do:

1. In a large bowl, combine and mix well softened cream cheese with chopped green onions, minced sweet onions, sugar and salt.

2. Crack an egg into a small bowl and whisk it. Set aside.

3. To wrap the wonton, spoon about 1 tablespoon of cream cheese mixture onto the middle of a wonton wrapper. Do not overfill.

4. Using a brush or finger, brush all four sides of the wonton wrapper with egg mixture.

5. Pick up two opposite corners and press them to each other, then pick up the other two opposite corners to the middle and press the sides together to seal and close the seams.

6. Repeat steps 3-5 until all the cream cheese mixture is gone. About 15 wontons.

7. Preheat oven to 400 F. Brush or spray vegetable oil all over wontons, then line them up onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or aluminum foil.

8. Bake wontons in oven for 7 to 8 minutes. Remove them from the oven and let them cool for 10 minutes.

9. Serve with Thai sweet chili sauce and enjoy!
