Kool-Aid Play Dough

The children in my care love making homemade play dough and this week we made this great scented Kool-Aid play dough from the Hoosier Homemade web site.

Also be sure to try out making other homemade play dough recipes including: Jell-O play dough, frosting play dough, edible peanut butter play dough, cream of tartar play dough, cloud dough, a corn starch play dough, and a baking soda and corn starch play dough to see which recipe the children in your care like the most.

You Will Need:

1 cup flour
1/3 cup salt
2 teaspoons cream of tartar
1 package Kool-Aid or flavored drink mix
1 cup water
1 tablespoon oil

What to Do:

1. In a heavy saucepan, add the flour, salt, cream of tartar. and Kool-Aid. Whisk slightly.

2. Pour in the water and oil.

3. Heat and stir until the Play-Doh is combined about 2-3 minutes and the mixture will be clumping.

4. Remove from pan onto a piece of wax paper and let cool until easy to handle.

5. Store in airtight container.
