I found the idea of this paper plate wreath for Saint Patrick’s Day on the nontoygifts web site. Instead of using paint, the child in my care just used dot markers and markers to make the wreath.
You Will Need:
Paper Plate
Yellow, Black, and Green Cardstock Paper
Craft Paint, Crayons, Dot Markers, Pastels, or Markers
Circle Punch
Scissor
White Glue
Paintbrush (if using paint)
What to Do:
1. Protect the work surface.
2. Cut out the circle in the middle of the paper plate.
3. Paint the paper plate rim in rainbow colors. Or use crayons, pastels, dot markers, or markers.
4. Trace a circle onto black paper. Cut it out. Use a scissor to cut a straight line at top of the circle to make a pot.
5. Use a small circle punch to make the gold coins out of yellow construction paper.
6. Attach the yellow circles to the top of the pot of gold.
7. Trace hearts onto green paper to make a 3 or 4 leaf clover or google a shamrock template and trace it onto the paper.
8. Glue the pot of gold at the bottom of the paper plate.
9. Add the shamrock at the top of the paper plate with glue.
10. Hang once dry.
