I have been doing this haunted house with window shutters and doors that open and close for Halloween while babysitting and with my Nanny Kids for years. I found this project on the sarahjanestudios web site. This year I printed out some Halloween clip art characters for the children to glue to the windows as well as drawing the characters with colored pencils and markers.

You Will Need:
Haunted House Template Printer Paper Black and Yellow or Orange Paper Printer Scissors X-Acto Knife Markers and Colored Pencils Glue Stick
What to Do:
1. Copy and print the haunted house template above.
2. Trace and cut out the haunted house on black, green, or orange paper.
3. Use a scissor and X-Acto knife to cut out the window shutters.
4. I lightly trace windows with a pencil on the yellow, white, or orange paper so the children know where to draw their Halloween characters.
5. Allow the kids to draw in the windows or past clip art to the windows.
6. Paste the black paper over the yellow, white, or orange paper.
