“Mister Seahorse” by Eric Carle and Craft

Mister Seahorse” by Eric Carle is a classic children’s book which makes a great gift for children and their fathers. Its perfect gift for Father’s Day. It’s a great story showing how fathers take care of their young.

Mister Seahorse” is a stunning book with acetate pages that hide fish behind rocks and reeds. As he floats through the sea, Mister Seahorse meets a Mr Stickleback, Mr Tilapia, Mr Kurtus, and many other fish fathers caring for their eggs and babies in the most surprising ways.

After reading “Mister Seahorse” with children, let them make a colorful seahorse out of coffee filters and Dot Markers.

You Will Need:

Coffee Filters
Dot Markers
Safety Scissors

What to Do:

1. Cover the workspace with newspaper or plastic tablecloth.

2. Flatten coffee filters and trace the seahorse template above on the coffee filter. Cut out seahorses.

3. Allow children to use Dot Markers to decorate the seahorse.
