Products Nannies Love

There’s no getting around it — babies are in the constant need of diaper changes. Studies show a baby will use 2,500 diapers in their first year. That’s why Nannies, Newborn Care Specialists, and Baby Nurses have a lot of experience, and some strong opinions, about diaper brands.
But just as each baby is an individual, different diaper brands work better than others for individual babies. One diaper brand may work great for one infant, but not for their very own sibling.
In 2021 we asked 323 Nannies, Newborn Care Specialists, and Baby Nurses about their favorite brand of diapers. Of the caregivers that took our survey 82% prefer disposable diapers to cloth diapers, 7% prefer cloth diapers, and 11% have no preference between using disposable or cloth diapers.
We recommend Amazon as a great place to buy diapers. Amazon’s pricing is clear and they offer the Amazon Family Program. It’s the perfect way to get the most out of your money, as it provides members with 20% off of diaper subscriptions.
Here are the Nannies 8 Favorite Diaper Brands:
1. Pampers

Pampers are the most recommended diapers among our in-home baby-caring experts. The Nannies that said Pampers are their favorite diaper brand listed they them because they are soft, not bulky, don’t sag, the baby’s skin stays dry, and they don’t leak. For protection that’s gentle on a baby’s skin, the caregivers that took this poll commented that Pampers Swaddlers are by far the favorite diapers for newborns up to six-months-old. Pampers Swaddlers are hypoallergenic and free of parabens and latex. The belly is very sensitive on a newborn. Pampers Swaddlers are curved to protect their sensitive bellies. The baby experts that took our survey recommend all types of Pampers including: Swaddlers Overnights, Baby Dry, Cruisers, and Pure.
2. Huggies

Huggies were a very close second favorite diaper brand. Nannies, Newborn Care Specialists, and Baby Nurses like that Huggies hold a lot, don’t sag, and are economical. More reasons the childcare providers love Huggies are they don’t have fasteners that tear off, they don’t leave residue on skin, and they don’t take up too much room in a diaper bag. Many caregivers commented that like Pampers Swaddlers for newborns but more nannies prefer Huggies for babies six-months and up.
3. Hello Bello

Hello Bello is a premium quality diaper brand created by Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard. The diaper designs are a major reason the Nannies that took our poll said they love Hello Bello disposable diapers. 5. Kirkland

If you or your employers aren’t a Costco member yet Kirkland diapers are reason enough to become a member. These are the favorite generic diapers listed by our baby experts. These diapers come in sizes 1 to 6 and are some of the most affordable diapers on the market that don’t leak. The Nannies that took this survey said they like the wetness indicator on the front of the diaper that lets them know it’s time to change his diaper. Kirkland added a soft, stretchy elastic band at the back of the diaper that makes for the perfect fit plus it holds in any poop explosions. In-home caregivers like the quick draw liner because it keeps the baby feeling dry.
6. Up and Up

The caregivers that chose Up and Up as their favorite diapers say they are most economical diapers on the market. The sides of the diapers have stretchy elastic for a comfortable fit for each baby, and the leg openings are dual-cuffed to prevent leaks. They are hypoallergenic and are free of latex, perfumes, chlorine, and petroleum-based lotions. There is a wetness indicator on the front of the diaper for most sizes. You can purchase diapers from newborn sizes up to size 7, giving a baby plenty of space to move up in sizes.
7. Luvs

Nannies that took our survey like that Luvs don’t leak. The wetness indicator turns blue when the baby wets his diaper, which lets you know that it’s time for a diaper change. Nannies like the large tabs. They are useful if a baby is wiggly. The large tabs make it easy to keep the diapers snug and fit. You can purchase different sizes of diapers from Luvs size newborn up to size 6.
8. Alva Baby

The Alva Baby cloth diaper is an easy to use pocket diaper. The diaper consists of an inner polyester soaker and an outer waterproof PUL. The Nannies that took this survey liked these cloth diapers the best. This diaper has two layers of snaps that adjust the size around the waist including extra cross-over snaps for an extra small fitting around the waist as well as three torso snaps that allow the diaper to grow with the child from small to medium to large. Choose from Microfiber or Charcoal Bamboo inserts. Even after many washes per week these diapers hold up fantastically.
