Holiday Hot Drink Stirrers

Inexpensive Gifts and Treats

In an attempt to make inexpensive holiday gifts with my Nanny Kids this year, we made these adorable hot chocolate or coffee stirrers. We used ingredients that we thought would make a mug of hot chocolate or coffee taste better. Wrap them up in cellophane and add a ribbon for holiday gifts.

You Will Need:

Wooden Coffee Stirrers or Wooden Spoons
Semi Sweet Chocolate and White Chocolate Chips
Mini Marshmallows
Peppermints
Any Other Small Candies You Would Enjoy in Hot Chocolate
Microwave Safe Bowls
Baking Sheets
Parchment Paper

What to Do:

1. Gather all ingredients ready to use you must work quickly once chocolate is melted.
2. Line baking sheets with parchment paper.

Crushed Peppermint and White Chocolate

1. Slowly melt white chocolate chips in a microwave safe bowl in the microwave. Stir the chocolate every 20 to 30 seconds. Be sure not to overcook the chocolate.
2. Dip wooden utensil or stirrer in the white chocolate.
3. Immediately roll into crushed peppermint candies.
4. Allow to dry on parchment paper lined baking sheet.

Chocolate and Mini Marshmallows

1. Slowly melt chocolate chips in a microwave safe bowl in the microwave. Stir the chocolate every 20 to 30 seconds. Be sure not to overcook the chocolate.
2. Dip wooden utensil or stirrer in the chocolate.
3. For a stirrer, immediately roll in mini marshmallows. Allow to dry on parchment lined baking sheet.
4. For a spoon, dip the spoon in the chocolate and then place spoon on parchment paper lined baking sheet. then place marshmallows on the chocolate.
