Peppermint Ornaments

A nanny Mary Alger shared this quick, easy, adorable peppermint candy ornament project on a Facebook nanny group and is sharing it with our readers as well. She simply picked up some inexpensive peppermint candies at her local pharmacy. Here’s what to do:

You Will Need:

• peppermint candies
• metal cookie cutters
• non-stick cooking spray
• parchment paper
• toothpick or skewer
• ribbon

What to Do:

1. Preheat oven to 350F.

2. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Spray the inside of each metal cookie cutter with cooking spray.

3. Lay cookie cutters on baking sheet and have the kids fill with a layer of peppermints. Bake for 3-9 minutes.

4. Lightly coat a toothpick with cooking spray and use it to make a hole in each group of candies. Let candy sit inside cookie cutter until it re-hardens.

5. Once hard, carefully stretch out the cookie cutter, pulling it away from the candy, to pop out your ornament.
