A Squirrel’s Tale… by Richard Fowler

aaaWeekly Trip to the Library

My four-year-old charge’s favorite book this Autumn has been A Squirrel’s Tale by Richard Fowler.

She loves watching the squirrels scurry around gathering acorns to stock their winter food supply. That’s why I’m certain she loves this book on the same topic.

This book has the cutest cardboard squirrel with a felt tail that takes an exciting adventure through slots on each page as he looks for his nuts. The reader has fun pushing the squirrel through a tree as he wakes up baby birds, visits a blackbird and owl, goes through a tea kettle and mushroom, through a mole’s window, into a pile of leaves, and so much more.

I highly recommend this interactive, activity book for any toddler and preschooler. Just don’t forget to point out the busy squirrels in the neighborhood after reading this fun tale.

  1. Sounds like a great book, and definitely a way to introduce learning new concepts like the changing of seasons!
