Cooking With Kids
In preparation of the nation celebrating Labor Day on Monday there’s still time to share a patriotic treat with the kids. Nothing is easier than making this red, white, and blue parfait. Simply use red and blue berries putting whipped cream in between the colored produce. We used blueberries, raspberries, and made this simple whipped cream recipe below. But strawberries work just as well as raspberries. Making whipped cream is a great quick project that kids can help with. Here’s what to do.
Whipped Cream Recipe:
You Will Need:
1 cup heavy cream
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 tablespoon confectioners sugar
What to Do:
In a large bowl whip the cream with an electric egg beater until stiff peaks are just about to form. Beat in the vanilla and sugar until the peaks form.
Don’t over beat the whipped cream or it will become too lumpy and start to turn into butter.
