New Year’s Resolution’s Wreath
A New Year’s Resolution Wreath is a fun, hands-on way for nannies to help children set simple, positive goals for the new year ahead. By tracing little hands on bright paper and turning them into promises like “clean up,” “share,” “be nice,” or “say please,” kids feel proud of the habits they’re learning. As each hand is added to the wreath, children see how their small actions like “making bed,” “feeding the dog,” or “following rules”come together to make something beautiful, just like a great year ahead!
You Will Need:
Paper Plate
Colorful Paper
Pencil and Markers
Scissors
Glue Sticks, White Glue, and/or Staples
What to Do:
1. Discuss New Year’s resolutions with the children in your care.
2. Cut out the center of a paper plate.
3. Trace the child’s hands on colorful paper and cut out the hands.
4. Help the child write a New Year’s resolution on each hand.
5. Paste or staple the hands to the paper plate shape.
6. Hang the wreath to remind the child of their New Year’s resolutions for the New Year.
