Why Kids Love Making Monster Slime for Halloween

There’s something magical about gooey, monster slime that turns every kid into a mad scientist. Whether it’s the squish, the stretch, or the spooky surprises hidden inside, sensory monster slime is a fun hands-on Halloween project all kids will love making!

You Will Need:

Craft Mat or Disposable Plastic Tablecloth
1/2 cup Clear or White School Glue
1/2 cup Water
1/2 teaspoon Baking Soda
Food Coloring (green, purple, or orange)
1 tablespoon Saline Solution (must contain boric acid and sodium borate) or Slime Activator
Googly Eyes, Glitter, Monster Eyes, or Halloween Beads (optional)

What to Do:

1. Protect the work surface: Lay down a craft mat or disposable plastic tablecloth for easy clean up.

2. Combine glue and water: In a bowl, mix the glue and water until they are well combined.

3. Add color and fun: Add a few drops of food coloring to achieve your desired monster hue and stir until the color is evenly distributed. Mix in any glitter, confetti, or add-ins.

4. Add baking soda: Stir in the baking soda until it is completely dissolved. This will help firm up the slime.

5. Activate the slime: Slowly add the saline solution or slime activator and continue to stir. The slime will begin to form as you mix.

6. Knead and finish: Knead the slime with your hands until it reaches your desired consistency. You can add a bit more saline or baking soda if needed.

7. Add monster details: Press in googly eyes or other decorations to give your monster slime its final look.

8. Store: When finished, store the slime in an airtight container to keep it fresh.
