Homemade Sensory Spaghetti Sorting 

Use a little oil to help food coloring stick to pasta and make the it ideal slippery sensory spaghetti for toddlers and preschoolers. Use your imagination to include toys for sorting colors for preschoolers. 

You Will Need:

Sensory Tray or Sectioned Tray 
Primary Colored Plastic Cups
Pasta Pot 
Spaghetti, Oil, Salt
Food Coloring 
Colander
Fine Motor Toys
Gallon Ziploc Bags

What to Do:

1. Boil water with some salt and a couple drops of oil in the water.

2. Cook spaghetti noodles as directed on the box.

3. Drain the noodles in a colander.

3. Combine about 2 tablespoons of water and 20 drops of food coloring in a gallon-sized resealable bag for each color you want. 

4. Once cooled, separate spaghetti into different gallon sized Ziploc bags. Close the bags and gently massage the pasta to ensure even coloring.

5. Put the colored spaghetti in a sensory tray. 

6. Have kids sort the spaghetti into similar colored sensory toys.
