If you need a boredom buster, these do-it-yourself clips made from cardboard will keep boys and girls happily busy. I cut out shapes from cardboard found in the recycling bin at the home where I work and provided plenty of paint, markers, and glitter glue pens for the children to decorate the shapes to make them into clips.
You Will Need:
Recycled Cardboard
Cookie Cutter Shapes
Scissors
Pencil
Wooden Clothespins
Hot Glue Gun and Glue
Markers, Paints, Glitter Glue Pens
Paint Brushes
What to Do:

1. Protect work surface with a plastic tablecloth or newspaper.
2. Collapse cardboard boxes from the recycling bin.
3. Use a pencils to trace simple cookie cutter shapes such as circles, starts, rainbows, and hearts onto cardboard.
4. Cut out the cardboard shapes.
5. Allow the kids to decorate the cardboard. If painting allow the paint to dry between stages of decorating the shapes. Allow glitter glue and paint to dry completely.
6. Use hot glue to attach each decorated cardboard shape to the flat top of a clothespin pin. Keep a bowl of ice water nearby when using a hot glue gun in case of being burned.
