Staying hydrated is essential for every cell in the body. Water helps the body maintain its temperature. When we exercise, we lose fluids through sweat, so drinking water helps replace those fluids and reduce the risk of heat stress. Hydration can also help with digestion, energy levels, joint pain, and kidney stone prevention. Even mild dehydration can impair brain function, including memory, concentration, and mood.
I love using stainless steel water bottles for insulation that keep water colder for longer without dangerous chemicals like BPA found in some plastics.
Here are my favorite water bottles to use while working as a nanny:

The Owala Free Sip is my favorite all around water bottle to take with me everywhere when working at my nanny job. My absolute favorite thing about the Owala Free Sip is that you can drink out of the spout like it’s a straw or you can tilt it upwards to take bigger gulps. Lock the lid on Owala’s water bottle, and leaks are a thing of the past. The carrying handle offers a nice touch by folding down into the cap when not in use. All these features make it perfect for travel. The Owala Free Sip keeps liquids cold for 24 hours. The Owala Free Sip comes in many fun colors, is easy to drink out of, versatile, and easy to clean. The Free Sip water bottle is available in various sizes including a convenient 40-ounce water bottle, a practical 32-ounce water bottle, and a compact 24-ounce water bottle. Choose the 24-ounce to fit in your car cup holder. If you need a good looking water bottle you can drink out of with one hand the Owala is the water bottle for you.

The Yeti Rambler is durable and has a unique chug cap that provides comfortable and quick drinking. For those that don’t like straws in their water bottles, this is a great water bottle. The Yeti Rambler is customizable, available in 14 colors and five sizes (12-ounce, 18-ounce, 26-ounce, 36-ounce, 46-ounce, and 64-ounce) and its dishwasher-safe.
The Yeti Rambler also has one of the best lids. It’s made of two components: one that screws into the bottle and contains a spout, and another that twists on top of that to keep it protected. This two-tiered system means that you can unscrew the top and drink from the spout whenever you want to take a swig of water. But when it’s time to refill your bottle with water and ice, you can take the entire top off, revealing the Yeti’s ultrawide mouth. The Yeti Rambler will keep cold liquid icy for nearly 16 hours. It requires two hands to remove the cap and drink from this water bottle and replace the lid.

The Stanley Quencher lightweight, 40-ounce water bottle, with easy-to-use handles is currently all the rage. Being able to pick the colors is fun and its large size is a great way to ensure I drink enough water during the day. It’s cupholder-friendly (despite its large size), comes in a variety of chic colors, and keeps water chilled for 24 hours.
The Stanley Quencher also comes in a comparable 30-ounce. There is a larger 64-ounce but it doesn’t have a tapered base and looks more like a jug. The 20-ounce and 14-ounce sizes look similar to the 40-ounce, but they don’t have a handle.
While the Stanley Quencher fits well in the car cup holder, I find it hard to put the Stanley Quencher in a diaper bag or back pack because if not kept upright or when tipped over, it can leak. There are adorable toppers for the straws and special carriers for this Stanley water bottle to reduce leaking. The tweens and teens I care for have no problem traveling to the pool, school, and sports with the straw toppers and carriers.
But, I absolutely love my Stanley Quencher for indoor use and keeping hydrated while at work. I use the other bottles listed in this post when running errands and out and about with kids for my nanny job.

Unlike the Stanley Quencher I can put the Stanley IceFlow Flip Straw in my diaper bag or backpack without worrying about spilling. It’s still hefty like most Stanley products, with a handle that folds to help it fit into bags when traveling. The IceFlow is made from BPA-free, partially recycled stainless steel that’s dishwasher safe. The IceFlow’s double-wall vacuum insulation can keep drinks cold for up to 12 hours and prevent ice from melting for up to two days. The IceFlow comes in a variety of fun colors. I find the Stanley IceFlow practical to use when out and about moving kids around town.
