Christmas Sun Catchers

These sun catchers make beautiful Christmas decorations made by children of nearly any age. I found this fun Christmas craft on Fun365 web site. They provide free printables that I used but you can use any simple silhouette pattern you wish. I find it easier to use high quality self-adhesive laminating sheets than contact paper.

You Will Need:

White Card Stock
Printer
Christmas Design Templates
Tissue Paper Squares or Colored Cellophane
Self-Adhesive Laminating Sheets
Christmas Bakers Twine
Safety Scissors

What to Do:

1. Print out the silhouettes you want to use on heavyweight paper.

2. Cut out the shapes on the outside and inside borders, leaving a thick border.

3. Place the shapes on clear contact paper or self-adhesive laminating sheets.

4. Have the child place tissue paper squares or colored cellophane onto the sticky paper inside the Christmas shapes.

5. Place another piece of clear contact paper or self-adhesive laminating sheet on top of the shapes to seal them.

6. Trim the shapes leaving a little contact paper or laminating sheets around the edges of the shapes.

7. You can poke a hole and thread twine through the decoration or just have the child use clear tape to hang the sun catchers in a window.
