I always try to bring new projects to do with kids when babysitting or working as a nanny.
Knowing everyone loves rainbows, I made two different rainbow lacing cards for differently skilled, (one younger and one older), children.
I also include children’s books with the projects I do with children to encourage their love of reading. I read the following children’s books about rainbows when doing this project: “A Rainbow of My Own” by Dan Freeman, “How the Crayons Saved the Rainbow” by Monica Sweeney, “Rainbow and You” by Edwin C Krupp, and “Rainbows (Nature’s Light Show)” by Kristen Rajczak.
You can purchase the supplies for the project and the rainbow children’s books by tapping the links above and below or by visiting my Amazon storefront by clicking here.

You Will Need:
Cardboard
Pencil
X-Acto Knife
Scissors
Hole Punch
Colorful Yarn
Plastic Needles
What to Do:
1. Trace or draw a rainbow onto a piece of cardboard.
2. Cut out the rainbow from the cardboard using an X-Acto knife and/or scissors.
3. Lightly draw lines to separate the colors of the rainbow with a pencil. Following the lines, use a hole punch to make lacing holes on the cardboard rainbow.
4. Teach the child how to put yarn into a plastic needle and lace the rainbow.
Don’t Forget to Read these Books While Doing This Project:
