Matching Colors in Nature

Using a self-adhesive laminating sheet and cardboard I made this color matching game for my Nanny Kid to take on a nature hike. I had her walk around her yard and neighborhood to see if she could find petals of similar colors on the matching board.

You Will Need:

Cardboard
Scissor and Xacto Knife
Self-Adhesive Laminating Sheet
Paper
Glue Stick
Markers or Pastels

What to Do:

1. Cut out a rectangle from cardboard. Cut out the center of the rectangle (see photo).

2. I covered the cardboard “frame” with white paper using a glue stick.

3. Use pastels or markers to draw colors the child will see in their yard or neighborhood.

4. Cut out a piece of self-adhesive laminating sheet to fit the cardboard “frame.”

5. Allow the child to pick petals from flowers, bushes, and plants in their yard that match the colors on the board. You can also allow the child to pick wildflowers in their neighborhood.

I may make a small profit from the affiliate links for the project above.
