Who knew a few paper plates and cardboard rolls could unlock hours of giggles and genius? Building a marble run with everyday items isn’t just a rainy-day lifesaver and summer STEAM activity — it’s a hands-on adventure in creativity, problem-solving, and good old-fashioned fun.
I found this marble run idea from the frugalfun4boys web site. (See video of our marble run below).
The 7-year-old girl in my care didn’t follow the instructions on the web site. She figured out how to do this herself. I provided her with paper plates, scissors, paper towel cardboard tube, tape, a disposable bowl, and since we didn’t have marbles so we used Nerf balls. I am so impressed how it turned out without her following any instructions.
But feel free to follow the instructions on the frugalfun4boys web site to make a marble run out of paper plates.
