Paper Bag Owl Puppets

I always save clean paper bags when I order take-out or come home from the grocery store. Cloth scraps are an essential part of my craft bag as well. If you don’t have any scraps of cloth there are web sites that send out free samples of patterns and textiles that are great for crafty nannies to have on hand. With these supplies and just a few steps you can make the most adorable little owl puppets that will keep the kiddos entertained for hours. Here how we made paper bag owl puppets:

You Will Need:

Paper Bags
Cloth Scraps
Construction Paper
Pipe Cleaners
Pencil or Pen

What to Do:

1. Have the kids trace their hands on different colored construction paper for the wings and glue them to the back of the bag.
2. Cut out cloth circles for the belly using cloth scraps or construction paper for the widow’s peak and beak.
3. Cut up pipe cleaners or straws and glue or staple them to the bottom of the bag for feet.
4. Glue buttons to the top of the bag to make the cutest eyes.
